Another Day - Another sick person

The view from the Cerner Office window.
So Shariya was supposed to work with me on Monday, but was sick. While I did meet with Dave Vigil today, Brian Sandager (main sales guy for this region) was supposed to be up Tuesday evening, and spend time on Wednesday with me. I talked with him on the phone and he's been down for about 8 days, fever, etc., and they don't know what he has. Someone else is coming to work with us, but it is definitely a bit rocky so far. David gave me some info to study tonite, so we can start digging in tomorrow. Kindof a slow start, but the list of deliverables is LONG. I think by next week, I'll be longing for Gerard to show up. Gerard is the guy we just hired, who is now in Kansas City, training, and will be back here on 4/24. (24-4-2006, as most of the world seems to write it, kinda makes sense really).
I got my phone (60-1-7604-4575). Mobile phones here work kinda like most of the world except the USA. You buy a phone from whomever and all the phones work on all the networks. You can buy a monthly plan from someone, or just load up your chip, that you buy separately, with $$ (which ultimately is minutes). Your phone number is associated to the chip. If you buy a new phone, you just move your chip to the new phone, since all the chips are the same, and all the phones take the standard chip. Too simple. I have a temp phone, but even when I buy my real phone (my budget is about $200, US, which'll get me a Razor, or similar), I'll still have this same number, when I move the chip over. Neat, huh?
Television in KL - BBC, CNN, Chinese and/or Malay language channels, soccer (football). That's about it. 2 channels of soccer, 23X7, with breaks for updates on other sports, but basically soccer. I've got the concierge looking for a pub that shows American Idol, but no news so far. He was pretty sure that this week's shows (both of them) are shown on Monday evenings, so almost a week behind.
talk to ya soon
Below I have shown where the 'chip' is inside the phone.

Take off cover
Pull out battery
Flip up chip holder
Pull out chip, move to other phone

You seem to be adapting quite well. I really like reading about your trip; can hardly wait for more pics. The pic out of the office window - wow...
Mike - I was anonymous - not sure on this blogging as yet. Anita
